In the market, which has 10-inch netbooks with cost-effective price and interchangeable features, the Webbook from Litl boasts of standing alone. The convertible netbook sports widgets, custom OS and has a unique style. The users can utilize the Litl Webbook like a traditional computer, but the screen has the ability to be folded back to a ground-breaking ‘easel mode’ where it could stand up straight.
Litl has its own OS to run on the Webbook, or you can say they do not consider others as innovative as they. Besides, the manufacture has not bothered to reveal much about their custom OS, but I suppose it is Linux enabled.
The Litl OS is fully based on web. All integrated on the OS appears to be widget-enabled, since they have ridden of file management and menus and all looks to sport only big icon. While you are in ‘laptop mode’ the widgets look a lot like webpages and if they’re looked in ‘easel mode’, the Webbook offers quite a different look of them.
Litl, for navigating in ‘easel mode’, has incorporated a wheel, which is encouraged by old radios and TV sets. On the hardware front, the device comes with touchscreen of 12-inch, 1.6Ghz Atom processor from Intel, RAM of 1GB, 2GB SSD. As its connectivity options, the device allows WiFi and is also included with a webcam. The device also has capacity of HD 720p video out and comes with an HDMI port.
Because 2GB isn’t enough for HD video, the content can also be streamed from Hulu or a few more providers. The future channels or widgets are also expected to be planned for the device, which could offer direct HD video. Though a convertible netbook, it still has the features that could bring the costumers closer to it. However, the final verdict still stays with the users as only then it can be told how long the netbook is going to stand among all those that have already made a niche in the market.
