iRiver, as usual is always busy in bringing in new concepts and this time it has joined hands with Speedo, the tight swimsuits maker to introduce another amazing product designed for use under water. This time it is LZR Aquabeat Racer – a waterproof MP3 Player, which is a combined effort of iRiver and Speedo and the successor of the original Aquabeat. Designed in rubber, the LZR Aquabeat Racer is attractive and pretty ergonomic.
As the features, the LZR Aquabeat Racer is equipped with a memory of 2 GB, which seems to be just enough for a few songs. Moreover it is capable of providing you with a continuous playback of 8 hours with the help of its built in rechargeable battery. Furthermore, the LZR Aquabeat Racer MP3 player is capable of withstanding up to duration of 30 minutes under the water swimming. The LZR Aquabeat Racer can be affixed to your head fully but is not at all wireless. Although this 2GB MP3 player has so little to say about in specs that it won’t blow your mind. But if you consider the device for the purpose of relaxation up to a water depth of 3 meters, then you do not have any choice other than the LZR Aquabeat Racer. Unlike other MP3 players like Apple Shuffle, the LZR Aquabeat Racer does not have a display. The device is just featured with the necessary audio controls including play, volume controls, stop and track changing controls and supports MP3 as well as WMA files.
Just because it is termed as waterproof, you cannot take LZR Aquabeat Racer for scuba diving or into any depth of water. The MP3 player is capable of withstanding only about a water depth of ten feet or three meters. Unfortunately, this $128 waterproof MP3 player is only released in Japan.
