Motorola Aura Review : Swiss Inspired Luxury Phone

Motorola has launched its latest phone Aura, a new high end ultra glamour phone that is inspired by luxury watches. The unique handset, announced at October end, is geared up to hit the market worldwide this quarter. The first thing that will attract you to Auro is its circular display and stainless steel front pattern. The Motorola Aura is quad band built-in with GPRS & EDGE sporting in 7.3 hours of talk time, AGPS, 2MP camera and 2GB of internal memory. The display backs up 16 mln colors in 300 dpi resolution, sheltered by Grade 1.62 carat sapphire crystal lens.

Jim Wicks, corporate vice president and director of Consumer Experience Design, Mobile Devices, Motorola was quoted as saying: “AURA is Motorola’s latest endeavor into the high-tier mobile device space and is the result of our continued inspiration to innovate in design, imagination and state-of-the-art handcraftsmanship. From the moment AURA owners hold their phones, they elevate their own experience in luxury and unmatched quality.”

Honestly I am not aware if Motorola’s Aura is the most costly mobile phone ever made, but it has got to be up there. The phone is priced at $1,999, and is expected to be made available on December 4th.

Other words, with the AURA users should expect such things as:

• Gears composed of Rockwell 50-55 hardened steel, protected with the same coating used in high-performance racing engines
• Swiss-made main bearing, which serves as the foundation allowing the blade to rotate with seamless precision
• Mirror polish finish with PVD coating, the same used when making luxury watches
• Custom-engineered rotating mechanism which has 130 precision ball bearings that drive the assisted-opening blade
• World’s first 16 million color, circular display with 300 dpi resolution
• Scratch-resistant 62 carat lens
• Stainless steel housing with chemically etched textures and patterns
• In total, 700+ individual components comprised of features including up-scaled, nickel-chrome-plated exposed screws
• Aluminum keypad
