Measuring 3.32 inches high, 2.43 inches wide and 0.6 inches deep, the Motorola Hint QA30 is an unusually square shaped handset. Weighing 4.13 ounces, the Hint is a solid and sturdy handset that feels comfortable in the hand.
The Hint’s display looks very attractive and sharp with its native resolution of 320×240 pixels and 65k color support. You have option to adjust the backlight time along with font and display brightness. The navigation array consists of toggle surrounding a slightly raised central OK button, back key, music player shortcut, two soft keys and the Talk and End/power keys. The toggle and OK button as works as control for music player application. The OK button allows you to access the Web browser, when the phone is in standby mode.
The keyboard seems to be cramped due to its smaller size and the keys are not usable. The keypad includes delete button, symbol/shift control, back buttons, and messaging shortcuts, dedicated speakerphone button, and the Web browser control.
The left spine houses the volume rocker, while the right spine accommodates only a voice dialing control. The micro-USB charger port is located on the bottom edge, while the 3.5mm headset jack is located on the top along with a handset locking button. The microSD memory card is under the battery cover but you don’t need to remove the battery.
The basic features include 700-contact phone book, vibrate mode, threaded text messaging, MMS, world clock, alarm clock, a datebook, calculator, speakerphone, and notepad. Other features include voice recorder, voice dialing, stereo Bluetooth, USB mass storage, and POP3 e-mail support.
As the reviews, the handset sports a 2-megapixel camera that captures stills in photos in five resolutions. The main camera features include adjustable brightness, white balance presets, nine frames, digital zoom, and shutter sounds with silent option. The built-in camcorder captures videos in two resolutions- 320×240 and 176×144.
The music player supports all the famous file formats such as MP3, AAC, AAC+, WAV, and WMA files. Other features include playlist creation and editing, shuffle and repeat modes, a basic equalizer.
The Hint has a rated battery life of 4.5 hours talk time and up to 15 days standby time.
