Motoroi: first Android 2.0-powered smartphone in Korea

The Motorola Motoroi is not only the first Android 2.0 phone in Korea, but it is also the first HD supported handset to touch Korean territory. The handset, in addition to standard smartphone stuff, is also the phone to enjoy watching TV on; through its Terrestrial DMB compatibility, users can enjoy watching more than 24 TV channels, if they cater to needs, as for taking advantage of this facility they would have to pay some extra bucks. While at home, they are free to switch from 3.7-inch Motoroi screen to HDTV with the help of the TV OUT jack.

The Android lets users make access to Google Maps and the extra “zillion” applications, which are easy to download from the Android Market straight to the MOTOROI. Besides the home screen of the Motoroi is also built-in with a widget, which helps users access to YouTube with utmost comfortability.

And if we talk about its video capabilities, the MOTOROI comes integrated with an 8-mp camera, which has the ability to be changed into a 720p HD camcorder. The gizmo is also built-in with a multi-shot and an image stabilizer, however, the highlight of the camera is its Xenon flash. It is said to be built-in with an original docking station, which proves to be of high use while watching movies.

Besides, if you don’t have much time to watch movies/TV on your phone, let me inform you the five unique texting methods of Motoroi. Aside from the common 3X4 keypad, you are also provided with the options of hand writing and writing pad, whereas the Half QWERTY and FULL QWERTY allow typing when both hands are in use. It boasts of reading Microsoft and PDF files.

Yes, the smarphone does have the capabilities of pinch-to-zoom, which helps users surf through 8 browser windows easily at one time. The Motorola Motoroi will be available to grapple in Korea at the very start of February via SK Telecom.
