Over past couple of months, Motorola has been engaged in rapidly updating their latest lineup. The recent launches revealed one new creation that is quite capable of being called a shoot master, where it comes to an ergonomically designed high profile camera phone. This top model comes with a 5MP camera and is fashioned with collaboration with one of the all time leaders in photographic technology, Kodak. Definitely Kodak’s involvement made the phone an imaging masterpiece. But it’s left to grasp what Motorola has in its store for the phone to come up with other facilities.
As the features, motozine ZN5 has dark grey body, mainly made of metal barring the rubber-coated bottom. Though it looks pretty slim with the 12 mm through out, it has little bump with the camera at the back. The front face is lit with a 2.4 inches TFT screen of 240 x 340 pixels still lacking visibility in outdoors bright light. The key pad with a circular navigational pad is a bit non responsive and do not encourages fast typing. The phone has TV connection jack and a lanyard latch. Also it gives support for USB charging by providing a micro USB port. Now comes the bigger picture, the 5MP camera is with auto focus and Xenon Flash. The ZN5 has EDGE and Wi-Fi but lacks 3G, users still can share pictures via MMS, E mail, Bluetooth or Kodak Easy Share. There is a photo editor by Kodak’s Perfect Touch Technology, which effectively can correct exposure errors or poor lighting. The phone also supports wireless printing.
As its reviews, the 5MP camera lenses from Kodak is really impressive, the shutter lag is less, the flash is far better than many phones with dual LED flashes resulting in sharp, natural color rich , well saturated and detailed pictures. Noise reduction at close range in low light up to 5 meters is admirable. Apart form the camera itself, CrystalTalk significantly enhanced the call audio quality. For e mails it has quite a rep for its IMAP and POP3 mail services, the full HTML browser can also entertain a fast and efficient browsing. But along with the plus points complains can come against the phone’s response especially during media playback, for it is slow in this area. Also the average battery life should have been improved although ZN5 is sensibly priced.
