Motorola TN700 and TN500 GPS Navigation System

Motorola managed to get very good attention at their two latest GPS navigation devices launched at recently concluded CES ’10. Motorola Motonav TN700 and TN500 are the two GPS navigation devices presented by Motorola. From the first looks, both the products look great and have some new exciting features that users have rarely handled before. While both the products are pretty similar to each other when it comes to features offered, there are some fundamental differences in design and a few technical specifications.

Motonav TN500 series GPS navigators have a bright 4.3 inch widescreen touchscreen display that works really well in bright light. On the other hand, TN700 series GPS navigators have a gigantic 5.1 inch cinematic touchscreen display. While both devices weigh almost equal, TN700 is a big heavier at 174g against 165g of TN500 series navigator. TN500 is a great navigator as it has navigation systems like lane guidance and speed limit information viewer. Other features also include spoken street name and junction view for driver’s safety.

TN700 has a few different features when it comes to navigation. It has 3D landmarks viewer and voice destination entry option, which are two new features. Junction view, lane guidance system and speed limits notifier are commonly observed features.
Great phone-related features of both Motonav devices from Motorola include hands-free Bluetooth enabled calling facility with extra options like phonebook download and easy reply. Voice answer and advanced recognition commands are also available in TN700 model. Both Motonav devices are capable of displaying information regarding gas prices in a specific zone and safety camera alerts. Extra features like flight status, regional search and steaming traffic updates are also available in TN700 series navigator.

Motorola never got enough attention despite making some great GPS navigation devices earlier. They simply couldn’t compete with leading brands in market regarding GPS navigation market. But, as the market is always expanding, Motorola has decided to give it another shot. They are expected to roll out both Motonav products in Q1 of 2010. Pricing details are not yet announced by Motorola Corp. Let us hope that people find positives in these two products from Motorola.
