Priced at $229.99, the Navigon 2200T is an inexpensive GPS which offers plenty of advanced features which include free real-time traffic updates for life, text-to-speech functionality, and photorealistic 3D views for complicated intersections. Most PND manufacturers will charge you double for offered all the features that are offered by Navigon 2200T. The device has some issues due to slow speed as it is very slow to start and get a fix on your current location. The same is true for calculation of the alternate route should you miss a turn or exit. But this budget-restricted PND is a great value for the money you pay and will get you to your destination.
When it comes to the looks, the Navigon 2200T is a cute little device. Measuring 2.8 inches tall, 3.8 inches wide and 0.7 inch thick, the PNd is so small that it will easily fit the palm of your hand. Due to its ultraportable size, you can use while walking on foot or can be strapped to the handlebar of your bicycle. But there is one price that it has paid for its small size. The 2200T sports a 3.5-inch touch screen whereas its competitors boast of larger 4.3-inch display. The display has resolution of 320×240 pixels and looks pretty clear and bright. Due to the small size of the screen, the marking look pretty cramped. But you can reduce the number of POIs that can be displayed on the map.
Navigon’s GPS devices are known for their little complicated user interface. The user interface is not as easy to use as is the case with other GPS devices. The 2200T requires extra clicks to do things like enter addresses or search for POI as compared to a Garmin or TomTom GPS.
The GPS device comes with a car charger, windshield and dashboard mount and reference material. The left edge of the device features a microSD expansion slot whereas the right edge has a reset hole. A micro USB port for connecting car charger is located at the bottom whereas the top edge of the device features a power button.
The Navigon 2200T offers all the features that you will find on Navigon 2000S with the addition of lifetime traffic updates. The 2200T uses the color codes to display the traffic flow. For example, it uses green color for, yellow for slow areas etc. If there is some accident on your route, an icon alerts you to the situation and suggests an alternative route.
