Well, if you are on the look out for a way to get content of you choice on your TVs, then get ready to lay your hands, as Netgear has announced to come up with a new HD media player, which is known as the EVA9150 Digital Entertainer Elite. The latest box brags of putting free photos and videos from Flickr and YouTube and content from your PC, onto your high-definition TV.
David Henry, director of home and consumer products for Netgear, was quoted as saying, “We are positioning it for people who are a bit in the know and looking for a way to get content of their choice on their TVs.”
As its reviews, the EVA9150 player comes built-in with a user interface, which lets users opt content from free sources like Flickr and YouTube.
The EVA9150 is also expected to face some tough competition from competitors such as Linksys Media Extender, Apple TV, Roku Netflix player and even Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming console system. But, even considering the wild goose chase of today’s tech world , the EVA9150 is claimed to make some niche, as according to the company, it will come built-in with a 500 GB hard drive, which makes it the world’s largest video jukebox for the home. While, on the other hand, Apple TV comes with 160 GB and XBox has 120 GB only.
Apart from all that, the EVA 9150 Digital Entertainer Elite is also touted to be capable of supporting 1080p high-definition video and even allows users to swap out the hard drive and put in another one. The product also brags of backing up various content platforms as compared to Apple TV which is joined to iTunes mainly or Roku to Netflix.
Henry says, “Roku does not play anything from your computer or the network such as Internet radio, YouTube or photos. It also doesn’t have a hard drive or wireless capabilities. The Digital Entertainer Elite is broader.”
The EVA9150 is slated to be made available in the Q1 of 2009 with the price tag of around $400 (almost 305 Euros).
