Nikon D3S unveiled in India

Nikon_D3SThe Nikon D3S is now all set to take imaging technology to a high level by rewriting the rules for professional photography. Built-in with 12.1mp senser, the D3S is also touted to be the 1st FX format camera, which boasts of a D-movie function. The professionals, with D3S, cannot only fully control the unpredicted scenarios and but they can also shoot them even during low light conditions through the ISO levels that ranges from 200 to 12,800.

The benefits of wide aperture NIKKOR lenses and the large FX-format sensor allows the D3S to display a refreshed movie capturing capability. While its D-movie function can be intuitively and instantly be used to shot 720p videos at 24fps in motion JPEG along with stereo sound through the input jack.

The 51-point Multi-CAM3500 AF system including 15 sensitive cross points also touts to provide quicker focus on erratic and quick subject movements. The AF system also brags of offering autofocus while capturing movie or Live View. For all this, users will have to opt from its three crop modes, such as; 1.2x (30×20), 5:4 (30×24) and DX (24×16).

The Quiet shutter release mode is said to benefit the Wildlife photographers as it doesn’t let the noise come to divert the subject while doing wildlife photography. The Active D-Lighting boasts up to 5 options while capturing high key subject matter or high contrast. It also features Auto setting alongside 4 manual control levels, such as, High, Extra High, Law and Normal.

The Retouch menu brags RAW processing options, which helps do image settings to the RAW (NEF) files in the camera on the move- JPEG compression, Size, Control, White Balance, Exposure Compensation, Picture Noise Reduction, Vignette Control settings and Color space.

The Nikon D3S is available to purchase from 800 Nikon retail points with the price tag of around Rs. 2,89, 950. The device will be available all over the nation from December 2009.
