Nokia rolls out the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition

Nokia is well known for its ‘Edition’ tactics. Many a times, the company has announced its music edition phones. However, now the company has jumped beyond its reach. This, time the company has rolled out the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition, a new edition of the 5800 XpressMusic that claims to offer a lifelong voice-guided drive and walk navigation licenses.
This Navigation edition, according to the company, allows fast access to the newest Ovi Maps software. The software allows speedy access to detailed regional maps with simple zooming capability. In addition to this, the handset also comes incorporated with Nokia’s brilliant 3.2 inch widescreen display and touch user interface.
Apart from this, the newest version of the Ovi Maps also comes bundled with a variety of improved attributes such as; aerial images and 3D landmarks for more than 200 cities. It is also capable of providing weather service, terrain maps, first-class traffic and travel as well as safety warnings.
As the reviews, the handset comes built-in with an in-car charger in conjunction with the Navigation license. The phone is additionally featured with surround sound and, stereo speakers, playback time of 35 hrs, speedy HSDPA internet connection and 3.2mp camera alongside Carl Zeiss optics, and up to 16GB memory.
The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is slated to be shipped in during Q3 of 2009. The device is expected to come with the price tag of around €285 (approx. Rs. 19,775).
However, it is still unsure whether the latest navigation edition will be as popular as other phones of XpressMusic edition has become so far. Time will tell about it, but it is as sure as the quality and popularity of Nokia that the latest edition will stand tall in the market may for some time as the company has gone out of its reach. And it always happens that a big fish always eats the small one and get most out what ever it does.
