HTC Titan II boasts of a 16MP camera with a F2.6 lens and a dual-LED flash. On the other hand, Nokia Lumia 900 comes with a 8MP camera with a F2.2 lens and a dual-LED flash. Both the smartphones are equipped with front-facing cameras of 1.3MP. These can be used for video chatting.


Both the smartphones feature an excellent display. Nokia Lumia 900 features a WVGA ClearBlack AMOLED display of 4.3 inches. It offers amazing results with its unique features. The color tone is saturated and the visibility is excellent when used outdoors. It also produces a deeper black color. HTC Titan II comes with a 4.7-inch WVGA S-LCD display. Apart from its size, there is no other prominent feature.

Interface & Functionality

Both the smartphones run the Mango version of Windows Phone, also known as Windows Phone 7.5. However, it does not provide a different experience as compared to other versions. You will not find much difference when you are using a calendar for maintaining a schedule or People Hub feature for social networking.

It is important to mention that HTC Hub is offered by HTC Titan II. It is an efficient version of HTC’s Sense UI. Nokia Lumia 900 can download specific apps of Nokia such as Maps and Nokia Drive. It offers a dynamic functionality with the turn-by-turn notifications integrated with voice. But HTC Titan II gives a tough competition to Nokia by offering HTC Locations.

Messaging is comfortable on both the phones. Therefore, it becomes difficult to judge which one is superior. The keyboards are responsive and have spacious layouts. An auto-correct feature is included in the keyboards of both the smartphones that lets them deliver an amazing messaging experience.

Nokia Lumia 900 runs a single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8055 processor of 1.4GHz. On the other hand, HTC Titan II comes with a single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S2 CPU of 1.5GHz. Both the smartphones give a very powerful performance. Therefore, it is difficult to distinguish which phone gives a better performance.

They offer an internal storage of 16GB on papers but actually, it is 13.61GB. No expansion is offered to increase the memory.

Internet & Connectivity

Both the smartphones support 4G LTE connectivity. They rely on AT&T and load the websites in a few seconds. Web browsing is excellent. They offer a similar performance with pinch zooming and kinetic scrolling features.

Data speeds in both the smartphones remain consistent as they deliver same results. They get a maximum upload speed of 1Mbit/s and a download speed of 5Mbit/s. Other connectivity features include a GPS, Wi-Fi, a mobile hotspot functionality and a Bluetooth.


Nokia Lumia 900 features a 8MP camera whereas HTC Titan II scores a better position with a 16MP camera. However, both the smartphones produce the same details. The color tones are neutral.

The shots taken in low-lighting conditions are handled fairly well by HTC Titan II. The low-lighting shots taken by Lumia 900 capture a lot of noise. HTC Titan II is the winner in terms of camera functionality. The shooting modes of the camera make it a better photo-centric device.

Lumia 900 records the video at 720p. The visuals taken by this phone are better than HTC Titan II. On the other hand, HTC Titan II displays softer details and some signs of artifacting.

Multimedia comes with a Zune experience. You will see a similar presentation on both the phones when you play the music. However, HTC Titan II has a better internal speaker as compared to Lumia 900. You will hear a strained voice when Lumia 900 is set at the highest volume setting.

Video watching is similar on both the phones. You cannot determine which phone is better for watching the videos. It is worth mentioning that the color production of Lumia 900 attracts the attention of the users.


Lumia 900 scores more in terms of calling quality. It delivers a clear voice on both ends. In contrast, HTC Titan II produces piercing tones that cause irritation. Battery life is also the same in both the smartphones. You will get a normal usage of one day. However, it can be stretched to one and a half day with a lesser usage.

Nokia Lumia 900 is available at $99.99 whereas you need to pay $100 more to buy HTC Titan II. It is priced at $199.99.

Nokia Lumia 900 is a better phone as it features an elegant design, a quality performance and a cheap price. It is really affordable if compared to HTC Titan II. Though HTC Titan II has its own unique features but when compared with Lumia 900, it takes a backseat.
