Nokia is undoubtedly holds the Numero Uno position in the cell phone market and its N series phones are known for their features and functionality that attracts the users. The N79 is another addition to its line up and the cell phone is equipped with Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2.
Measuring 110×49x15mm and weighing 97g, the Nokia N79 is a sleek cell phone which feels solid in the hand and fits easily in the pocket. The N79 is available in three different covers which will change the theme of the device when you change the cover. The changeable covers come fitted with their unique microchip which enables you to change the theme when you change the cover.
The front panel features a 2.4-inch QVGA display which supports 16 million colors. A keypad is located below the screen which is adequate for basic texting. The front panel also features a light sensor along with front facing camera, which allows you to make video calls. A 5-megapixel camera is located on the back of the device. The camera has a mechanical cover which provides the extra safety as well as acts as the camera button. Moreover, a dual LED flash is also present which might be helpful in low-light conditions.
The top edge of the device houses a sliding key lock, which is a useful addition. A standard 3.5mm headphone jack and power button, are also located on the top edge. The left spine of the device features a mini USB port, power socket and microSD memory card slot. Though the device has a built-in memory of 83MB but it comes equipped with 4GB of memory card. You can expand the memory up to 8GB.
The device offers number of advanced features such as Wi-Fi, GPS in addition to FM transmitter and Stereo Speakers. It also offers you Bluetooth as well the FM radio. The music application supports AAC, MP3 and WMA format. The N79 comes with three month trial Voice Navigation software along with Nokia’s web browser which supports Mini Map application for navigation.
The Nokia has rated the battery life of N79 with 5.5 hours of talk time and standby time of 372 hours.
