NVIDIA and Acer have launched their new small desktop PC AspireRevo; which is supported by graphics of NVIDIA’s Ion. this desktop incorporates an Intel Atom CPU and a NVIDIA GPU. This small desktop uses very less power as compared to standard desktops and the AspireRevo is surely faster than most PCs. The AspireRevo is capable of doing similar tasks like a PC.
Standard desktops are not capable of running some applications. These applications can be easily executed by the AspireRevo; it is incorporated with GeForce 9400M. It comes with thee decoding which allows it to play 1080p video at a rate of full frame. With average performance it can run high end games. The design of AspireRevo attributes to the home theater screen with the framework of 7.1 inches square and of thickness of half inch.
This small desktop has been configured with 4GB of RAM. Integrated with six USB ports and a hard disk of 250GB it is very practical. The circuit board design has small number of layers to reduce the cost of this desktop. Its small model and smart designing makes it easy to handle. The processor however does not adhere to the green factor as it pulls in a lot of electricity.
Being Lab certified from Microsoft it will now incorporate windows 7 and full support for vista. Despite of its price it supports HD video and flash. This desktop is less expensive in comparison to the functionality it shows. The cost of this model is $299 but some models with some additional features will cost more. In spite of the low cost Intel states that it will provide above average performance, if that’s the case than the price is just right.
NVIDIA initially faced some problems in getting Intel’s support. This is when they introduced their own hardware into the system. Its 7.1HD audio compatibility may also have issues with hardware. This decision did not affect the overall performance of the PC but with the integration of Intel chips the story eventually changed. Its 7.1HD audio compatibility may also have issues with hardware. Hopefully before its big launch in March nVidia AspireRevo will make amends to the missing ingredients.
