OCZ Rally2 Turbo USB 2.0 Flash Drive (32GB) reviews

oczrally2turbo_bSmall is in. This fact is again proven by OCZ Rally2 Turbo USB 2.0 Flash Drive (32GB). This device comes in a solid, small, and simple casing and proves that in order to perform well, a big size is certainly not a necessity. The OCZ Rally2 Turbo USB 2.0 Flash Drive (32GB) is available at a price of $80.It is quite expensive as compared to the prices of other 32GB drives in the market, but it is way ahead all of those in terms of performance. It lives up to its promise of delivering excellent performance in a compact and sleek design. The device is supplied with a lanyard that helps you to keep it close to your hand. You will notice that the small USB cap of the device is prone to damage and for this reason OCZ provides replacement caps that come in packs of five for $3.99.

The Rally2 flash drive measures a mere 2.7 by 0.6 by 0.3 inches and is hardly wider than its USB connector. This means that it will not block other ports on your computer when in use. OCZ does not provide a USB extension cable with this flash drive as the drive is small enough to not block any other port on your machine when in use. You can wear this drive comfortable around your neck, through its silver lanyard, as it weighs a mere 0.5 ounce. You can also add this drive to your key ring.

Once formatted, the Rally2 boasts of a storage capacity of is 29.8GB. The drive does not come with any kind of preloaded software. Bundled software with flash drives anyway is not of much use. As far as performance is concerned, the OCZ Rally2 Turbo accounts for a decent one. As the features, the Rally2 is capable of achieving an average write speed of 8.5 megabytes per second and an average read speed of 23.5 megabytes per second. These speeds are extremely good for a compact flash drive. If you are looking for a performance oriented, compact flash drive, then OCZ Rally2 Turbo USB 2.0 Flash Drive, with a storage capacity of 32GB can be a good choice.

Those speeds are not particularly good at all. 8.5MB/s write is mediocre at best.
