Olympus Stylus 1050 SW Review – a camera meant for adventure users

Olympus has launched its 10.1-megapixel camera, Olympus Stylus 1050SW, which is specially designed for use in extreme conditions on adventure trips worldwide. Its metal body with shock-absorbing ability allows the camera to withstand a drop of 5 feet. It can also take pictures up to 10 feet deep under the water due to waterproof seals and gaskets. This durable and strong camera is capable of taking good pictures which is the most remarkable feature of Stylus SW series.

The camera has 3×optical zoom with a 2.7-inch LCD screen. 1050Sw is loaded with features like Face detection, Smile Shot and Shadow Adjustment Technology.

The 1050 SW’s performance underwater is equally matched with its performance on the land as it is totally waterproof and it has preset underwater scene mode. You can submerge the camera up to 100 deep under the water to take beautiful pictures. It is a perfect camera for scuba divers. The Olympus 1050 SW works properly in frosty weather even if the temperature dips up to -10 degrees Celsius. Olympus has added its “Tap Control” technology to 1050 SW which has made it easier to operate, especially in cold weather when you are wearing gloves. This technology allows the user to tap different areas of the camera to operate it.

The TruePic III Image Processor gives you absolutely clear photos with brilliant colors. Like any other Olympus camera, 1050 SW also uses xD-Picture Card media. The 1050 SW comes with an adapter that will enable the use of microSD memory cards while taking photos. Other than above mentioned features, the 1050 SW offers the following features:

• 27 shooting modes
• AVI format movies with resolution of 640x480/320x240
• Record 640x480 (30fps) video up to 2GB when using a Type M+ or H xD cards with Firmware v1.1
