Palm Pre boasts of Google Search, Google Maps, and YouTube

The official Google blog is very excited about the introduction of Palm Pre smartphone. The gadget’s webOS doubles with its integrated attributes such as Google Maps, Google Search, and YouTube. You can also integrate your Gmail, Google Contacts, and Google Calendar to the Palm Pre.
The most widely used functionalities of webOS is the universal search feature, which users can use for typing a question from the home screen, but for launching the web browser. Sometimes, the input query is not able to synchronize with any application or any of your contact info within the phone. You can then make a search either on the web with Google, local places on Google Maps, articles on Twitter or Wikipedia.
WebOS’s Google Maps also boasts of searching nearby businesses and your (PoI) points of interest depending on the consumers’ location. Unless you activate Location Services, you cannot avail this feature.
Palm has suitably named its operating system as all apps being sprinted on this platform are kept in control by a Webkit-based rendering engine for content, which allows simple portability of Google Maps to the operating system. Users can also enjoy all the rage well-known Google Maps attributes like My Location, local search, driving directions and traffic.
More to the point, Palm comes with a YouTube application, which makes use of Palm’s Native application MoJo SDK, sported on the Palm Pre. It claims to make use of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development tools such as web app.
The WebOS also comes integrated with Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts. Only by typing in your password and account name, you are provided with results by the smartphone that matches your email, calendar events, and contacts. Plus, it gives support to the IMAP IDLE protocol that lets you make access to push Gmail.
The Google apps have been designed utilizing web standards along with Palm’s MoJo SDK.
