I think Panasonic doesn’t want to relax this year, not long ago, I let you know about its Panasonic DMC-FS25, and now the company has shown a series of new digital compact cameras, the DCM-TZ-ZS3 & DCM-TS1, which brag the latest AVCHD Lite HD Video Recording Capabilities of MPEG-4 / H.264 AVC video compression standard.
The facet of AVCD Lite video boasts of increasing recoding capacity in HD 720p format and is also capable of boosting Dolby Stereo high quality audio. Not like the majority of digicams at its size, either of the units come embedded with stereo microphone, as feature in a dedicate camcorder, but most striking of all attributes is its noise reduction aspect, which is capable of blocking out background wind buzz and allowing audio sampling at 48khz.
The Panasonic ZS3 is capable of enhancing 12.1MP image sensor, sophisticated Face Recognition, Optical Image Stabilizer, 3-inch LCD screen as well as a 12x optical zoom lens of 25-300mm (35mm equiv.). Its advanced optics comes integrated with an excellent LEICA DC VARIO ELMAR series zoom lens, which has been made from 2 ED lenses, 2 aspherical lenses with 3 aspherical surfaces and a total of 10 optics elements in 8 groups design. Panasonic has also built-in a step-down ZS1 a tinier 10Mp image sensor, tinier LCD at 2.7-inch, though parallel big lens but can only capture motion video of 848×480 resolution but for having the feature of the AVCD Lite video.
While, the DCM-TS1 is a powerful version of Lumix with watertight, shockproof and dustproof digital camera, which has been constructed to resist water to a depth of 10 feet, and can fall from up to 5 feet while operating in bitter cool temperature of -10 degrees Celsius. The rough and tough Lumix comes with the majority of the advance features similar to the ZS3, such as; it has the similar image sensor of 12.1MP, but comes with a tinier 2.7-inch LCD screen as well as a 4.6x Leica DC Vario-Elmar optical zoom lens at 28-128mm (35mm Equiv).
DCM-TZ-ZS3 and DMC-FT1 are likely to be made available in April with the suggested price tag of around $399.
