Panasonic DMP-BD60K reviews – one of the best Blu-ray players in the current market

panasonicdmp-bd60kPriced at $300, the Panasonic DMP-BD60K Blu-ray player is one of the best Blu-ray players in the market these days. It is at par with the very best Philips BDP5010 and the Samsung BD-P1600 Blu-ray players. This Blu-ray player boasts of a terrific design, overwhelming image quality, excellent features and support for BD-Live. The best part about this player is that it handles most of the stuff very well, ranging from bright colors in animations to light shades grey in black-and-white movies. The DMP-BD60K is excellent at up-scaling regular DVDs. It offers well balanced, vivid, and detailed colors and prevents any sort of pixilation.

As far as the design is concerned, this player is very attractive in terms of looks. Its compact size and light weight make you easily put it anywhere in your room. The player boasts of well placed and huge Power and Eject buttons. A programmable remote accompanies the player. The buttons of this remote are again big and extremely well placed. The remote lacks any kind of back-lighting but its playback buttons are highlighted in blue color. You will find the on-screen displays of the player to be pretty reasonable. The set up menu, though annoying at the first look, proves to be a cakewalk later. Just go thorough the reader manual of the player and you will be good to go. The DMP-BD60K takes around seventy minutes to load and play a disc.

The DMP-BD60K is the first player in the market to feature both a USB port and an SD Card slot. You will be glad to know that the card slot of the player supports AVCHD video and images and the USB port is capable of handling music and photos. The player supports JPEG and MP3 formats. The player also features an Ethernet port through which you can upgrade its firmware and gain access to BD-Live content on discs. You also get the option to use Panasonic’s VieraCast Web portal. Through this portal, you can easily access select Web content sites such as Picasa and YouTube. The player also features support for on-board decoding of DTS-HD Master audio, Dolby TrueHD, and Dolby Digital Plus. Overall, the Panasonic DMP-BD60K is an excellent Blu-ray player.
