Panasonic has been well known for their high end HD camcorders like the HDC HS200 and the HS-300. Today we take a look at the HDC-TM10 which is high end newer model camcorder than the HS20s. the design of the TM10 is very different from the other Panasonic models making it unique. The 1/6in CMOS sensor confirms a 16 x optical zoom with the focal length of 2.95-47.2mm. This is very similar to the SD20 however the diameter of the filter has been reduced to 30.5mm from 43mm.
Therefore the TM10 weighs at 278grams which is 40 grams lighter than the previous versions. The microphone is equipped with a mere stereo which is a step back from the 5.1 channel sounds in the HS20 and SD20. The enhanced optical image stabilizer has been improved drastically to provide much more steadiness during movements. The 8GB flash memory integrated in the TM10 leaves enough space for your pictures and at the same time flash memory of lower tendencies of crashing.
Despite of being a high end camcorder Panasonic have failed to improve on its video data rate. It provides a mere 17Mbits/ second where as Canon and JVC now offers data speeds up to 24Mbits/sec at no extra costs. This downfall is overcome by its quality HD settings at 1920 x 1080 which is brilliant and with that setting it allows at least three hours of recording. It is basically designed to be a point and shoot camcorder making it very user friendly.

The intelligent auto system provides the users with multiple options such as detection of conditions, scene modes, low and bright lights, modes of images or video, contrast, shadow, highlights and many more. By switching to the manual mode there are a few more options which enable the users to adjust the shutter, focus manually, fine tuning the angles etc. However the touch screen makes the manual insertion very annoying.

It is jam packed and combined with multiple features which makes the HDC TM10 stand above the SD20 and the HS20. The TM10 has managed to creep into the top position with its ability to take clearer pictures under low light and sharper pictures as well. Overall the TM10 works well as a small portable HD camcorder and definitely sensible.
