Panasonic churns out Lumix compacts




Recently Panasonic has introduced several Lumix compact cameras which include DMC-FX66, DMC-ZR3, DMC-TS2, DMC-ZS5 and DMC-ZS7. Company claims that cameras are companionable with SDXC cards which are approaching in market. These cameras are configured with the latest technology Venus Engine HD II along with Venus Engine VI, which not only offers instant performance but also reduces noise. Panasonic’s cameras are really popular in users since they are pretty stylish and packed with cool features.

Panasonic’s DMC-FX66 is the camera with thin body and resolution of 14.1 Megapixel. It is incorporated with ultra wide-angle lens which are of F2.8-5.9 25-125mm i.e. 5x zoom. This lens also offers Power O.I.S lens-shift stabilization. Camera is provided with 230k-dot screen of 2.7 inch on the backside and it is capable of capturing videos of 720p. With battery it weighs merely 5.11 ounces. Though it has a start-up time of 1.06 second, it lacks AVCHD Lite.

DMC-TS2 is very similar to DMC-FX66, as both cameras have same screen, sensors, focus and screen modes, and image stabilization also. With these similarities, the major difference is lens which is of F3.3-5.9 28-128mm i.e. 4.6x. The device with AVCHD Lite 720p video format is somewhat heavier than DMC-FX66, since it is of 6.63 ounces including battery. The most exciting feature of this camera is toughness. It is protected with dust, water, shock and temperature.

DMC-ZS7 and DMC-ZS5 are infused with screens of 3 inch with 460k dots and 2.7 inch with 230k dots respectively. These two cameras give the impression of being twins as they have alike specifications such as resolution of 12.1 Megapixel, F3.3-4.9 25-300mm explicitly 12x lens. They both have 720p videos and equal focus and scene modes, but lack AVCHD Lite and GPS. They are bulky as we consider other cameras because DMC-ZS7 weighs 7.69 ounces while DMC-ZS5 weighs 7.55 ounces including battery.

DMC-ZR3 is one more camera which has 14.1 Megapixel resolution. It also has AVCHD Lite similar to DMC-FX66 and DMC-TS2. It is equipped with lens of F3.3-5.9 25-200mm i.e. 8x with wide angle. It is rugged device with weight of 5.61 ounces with battery. Panasonic’s Lumix compact cameras are really worthwhile with enormous positive aspects and designing. Unfortunately, details regarding availability and cost are not known; so we have to wait for these great gadgets.
