Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF1 Micro Four-Thirds Digital Camera with Built-In Flash

Panasonic-LUMIX-DMC-GF1Panasonic has announced the expansion of its award-winning LUMIX G Series. Now the company has added another digital camera, known as the LUMIX DMC-GF1. The latest compact and elegant camera is also claimed to be the world’s lightest and smallest Micro Four-Thirds system digital camera, which comes incorporated with flash, and is aimed at redefining digital photography standards.

The LUMIX DMC-GF1 boasts many powerful features. It is built-in with Venus Engine HD and high resolution 12.1mp Live MOS Sensor. It also features large 3-inch Intelligent LCD, which has 460,000-dot resolution and wide viewing angle. Besides, it features My Color mode, which is included with 7 preset effects such as Expressive, Elegant, Retro, Pure, Monochrome, Dynamic Art, Silhouette and Custom.

The camera can also record 1280 x 720 HD video in AVCHD Lite, and HD Motion JPEG in 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Its Live View function allows the users to make out how these settings are going to affect the photo ahead of their shooting.

Besides, the camera also comes with company’s latest Scene mode, Peripheral Defocus, which helps users take a photo where the background is blurred or foreground is in focus and – or vice versa.

As the reviews, the LUMIX DMC-GF1 also comes with Impressive iA (Intelligent Auto) mode, which sports Face Recognition (up to 6 faces), Mega O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilization), Auto Focus (AF) Tracking, Intelligent Exposure, Intelligent Scene Selector and Intelligent ISO.

Its wide-range of AF modes consists of Quick AF, and multiple-area AF with around 23 focus areas. Highly-effective Dust Reduction system helps place a supersonic wave filter before the Live MOS sensor, which boasts of vibrating vertically up to 50,000 times per second to repel the dust.

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-GF1 comes in two kits. The first one is known as the LUMIX G 20mm/F1.7 ASPH lens, whereas the other is called LUMIX G VARIO 14-45mm/F3.5-5.6 ASPH/MEGA O.I.S lens. It is expected to be rolled out in the market from October 2009 with the price tag of around $900 (same price).

    The auto focus tracking is incredible, makes shooting sports so easy. The video is great and you can zoom in and out without any lens noise as the zoom is by hand not motor.
