Upgrading its LUMIX FS-Series of digital cameras, Panasonic has launched DMC-FS25, a 12.1 megapixel DMC-FS25 camera, which, the company claims, comes featured with a 5x optical zoom and a 29mm wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens, as well as a 3.0-inch intelligent LCD. The latest camera is claimed to be the top-of-the-line FS-Series model. A stylish sister-line of the most-appreciated LUMIX FX-Series, the DMC-FS25, boasts of providing trouble-free operation with a sleek look, and allows both advanced & beginner users to capture striking digital photos with a camera that easily fits in a pocket.
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS25 camera also comes with the enhanced Intelligent Auto Mode (iA), which was not found in the earlier FS models. It now comes integrated with AF tracking & Intelligent Exposure functions along with the standard Mega O.I.S., Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector as well as Face Detection. The users can make use of the AF Tracking to “lock” the focus onto a moving subject 1. After that the camera keeps track of the moving subject automatically, focusing onto it without holding the shutter button halfway down. Besides, Intelligent Exposure allows users to take realistic images by holding back blown highlights and blocked shadows. It keeps on monitoring the light source in the shooting environment and automatically sets off the backlight compensation function if it spots the subject is backlit.
David Briganti, National Marketing Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company, was quoted as saying, “The DMC-FS25 is the new top-of-the-line model for LUMIX’s ultra-slim line of FS-series cameras. By incorporating some advanced features and technologies previously only found on our higher-end models, the DMC-FS25 offers users a stylish, pocket-sized digital camera capable of producing high-quality photos. This new model exemplifies Panasonic’s goal of providing photographers at every level with easy-to-use cameras that make photos appear professional grade.”
Additional attributes of the DMC-FS25 are a Venus Engine IV image processor, which is capable of providing a sophisticated signal processing system as well as a shutter release time lag as short as 0.006 seconds. The Venus Engine IV is also claimed to give support to a High Sensitivity mode, which allows the camera to record at a setting of around ISO 6400, sensitive enough to take subjects in near-total darkness but for utilizing a flash.
