Panasonic Toughbook CF-C1 carries Intel’s Core i5 anywhere you want




Extending its rough and tough series of Toughbook systems, Panasonic has now come up with its brand-new Toughbook CF-C1 convertible notebook. The latest notebook-turned-tablet system has been crafted with road warriors and mobile professionals in mind and is claimed to handle the most demanding environments.

The Toughbook CF-C1, besides its evidently ruggedized shell, comes featured with a spill-proof keyboard and disinfect-able or rubberized carry handle. Boasting more of its robustness, Panasonic says that the users of this Toughbook CF-C1 can drop it from 76cm heights without any risk of damage.

Well, the latest system isn’t just confined to its robustness, but it also boasts of providing an excellent performance. Feature-wise, the Toughbook CF-C1 has been kitted out with a DDR3 memory of around 8GB, 2.4GHz Intel Core i5 520M vPro processor, and a shock-proof flex-mount 250GB hard disk.

As the review, the system also comes included with a 12.1in multi-touch capacitive display, which boasts of proffering a resolution of around 1,280×800. The system also comes in-built with a digitiser, which proves to be of high use for the users who can use it through finger input or pen, as also for them who have gloves while working. At the same time, it is also revealed by Panasonic that a “Gloved Multi-touch” model would soon be brought fore before the year ends.

Well, the system is not as heavy as it gives the impression of as it is weighed just 1.47kg and this is when it is installed with a single 4-cell battery. Although, road warriors, asking for longevity, would like to put in double hot-swappable batteries, offering a usage time of around 10hrs with just a single charge. Additionally, the users can easy swap batteries while the system is being used.

Apart from all that, Panasonic has also taken care of the need that you feel while out and about utilizing the Toughbook CF-C1. So, from the connectivity point of view, the brand-new system also offers support for Bluetooth 2.1, standard 3G connectivity and Wireless N.

Slated to be made available in July this year, the system comes with the initial price tag of €1,998, that is around £1,810. The “Gloved Multi-touch” model is expected to make its entry during September.
