Pantech Matrix Pro Reviews – Windows Mobile Smartphone

pantechmatrixproThe Pantech Matrix Pro boasts of a dual-slider design like its siblings, the Matrix and the Duo. The number keypad can be accessed by sliding the phone vertically whereas sideways sliding reveals full QWERTY keyboard.

Measuring 4.2 inches long, 2.0 inches wide and 0.9 inch thick, the Matrix Pro weighs 5.34 ounces, which means that it is much heavier than both the Matrix and the Duo. Moreover it will not fit in jeans pocket as it is slightly larger in size. The Matrix Pro sports a 2.4-inch display, which has native resolution of 240×320 pixels and supports 260,000. Being a Windows Mobile 6.1 handset, the user interface is not as impressive as HTC TouchFlo 3D interface. The Matrix Pro default home screen displays latest calls and appointments, and allows you to access information and applications. You have option to choose from a number of themes and background images.

The device does not feature touch screen. The navigation array consists of two soft keys, a circular five-way toggle with central OK button, a Home button, a Back button, plus the Talk and End/Power keys.

The Matrix Pro is a Windows Mobile phones, which has all the features geared toward the mobile professional. It also has the support for 3G/HSDPA, but it lacks Wi-Fi capabilities, which is very disappointing considering that it is a Windows Mobile smartphone. The Matrix Pro is equipped with full Microsoft Mobile Office Suite which allows you to create and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents. The device also features OneNote, Jetcet PDF and it is capable of accessing Remote Desktop. Other features include Microsoft Direct Push, Xpress Mail,AIM, Yahoo, and Windows Live Messenger, full Bluetooth capabilities, and built-in GPS application.

With Matrix Pro, you will get full access to AT&T’s broadband services, which include AT&T’s Cellular Video, AT&T Video Share, AT&T Mobile Music. The handset also features Windows Media Player with support for MP3, WMA, and unprotected AAC formats. You can use memory card up to 32GB for storing the music and videos.

The Matrix Pro boasts of 2.0-megapixel camera which takes pictures in six resolutions–1600×1200, 1280×1024, 800×600, 640×480, 320×240, and 176×144, five white balance settings, four color effects, three quality settings, and a self-timer. Other camera options include adjustable brightness, 4x digital zoom, and a multishot mode. You can also capture short clips with 176×144 resolution.
