Pentax intros Optio WS80 compact, waterproof camera

Building on the success of the Pentax Optio W80, Pentax says that it has added one more waterproof camera to its ground-breaking devices. Known as the Pentax Optio WS80, the new camera is touted to lack certain features, which you were able to find in the previous product. Though, in general, a new addition is expected to have some new and extra features, the Pentax Optio W80 doesn’t have that.
Claimed to be a perfect travel mate, the Pentax Optio WS80 feature a 5X internal zoom and a 10 mp CCD and is measured not more an inch in thickness. Plus, its 2.7-inch LCD screen claims to deliver 2, 30, 000 pixels resolution. This waterproof camera also has the capacity of withstanding around 5 feet depts. In addition, the WS80 can also capture high resolution, widescreen videos at 30 frames per sec speed but for making any compromise on the quality. The camera also boasts of capturing videos and images with a resolution of 720p even below the surface.
As the reviews, the camera also has up to 6400 ISO Sensitivity. It helps boost the shutter speeds to offer blur-free images even when there is low ambient light. Besides, the Pentax Optio WS80 also comes featured with Smile Capture, Fast Face Detection, Blink Detection and Shake Reduction technology. The Pentax Auto Picture mode come with an automatic option of selecting the greatest mode from the 8 presets relying on the surroundings.
The Pentax Optio WS80 is expected to be rolled out in September. The camera will come in the colors of white and purple or black and orange color. The water-resistant camera is expected to come with the price tag of around $249.95 (approx. Rs. 11,893).
The dainty device comes at a little higher price if we look at its features. In its place, the original W80 is the best choice, which comes at only $50 more.
No matter, the camera has less features as compared to the previous models of the company, but it is still a product with its selling value.
