It was barely in the year 2008 that Phiaton entered the headphone market with the launch of its MS 400 Moderna Series headphones. The MS 400 model was a fashionable set that was an amalgamation of excellent sound quality and comfort. This way, Phiaton established a reputation of launching comfortable and sleek products.
This year too, Phiaton has struck an even stronger blow with the launch of its more portable PS 300 Noise Canceling headphones. Priced at $299, these headphones are accompanied by a variety of travel-friendly accessories. These headphones have been launched to give a direct competition to headphones from rival companies like Bose.
The Phiaton PS 300 Noise Canceling headphones strike considerable similarity to Bose “On-Ear” headphones in terms of style. The set comprises a couple of small, oval shaped ear-pads. These ear-pads measure about 2.7 inches with respect to tallness and 2.2 inches with respect to width.
They do not cup your ears and stay on top of them. The set features a detachable cable that holds an inline muting button. The set is available with champagne gold shades with textured black leather earpiece covering. Its headband as well as the ear-pads is padded and soft.
The set can be used with the noise-canceling functionality and without it also. The set is shipped with an extra rechargeable cell in its box. The PS 300 headphones also comprise a bass boost feature that can be used to mellow down or pump up bass.
They are shipped in a hard case that is good in design and comfortable to carry around. The shipment includes an airline adapter, accompanied by a power adapter. The performance of the set is good but not very exceptional. The music from the set sounds open, with impressive high-end sounds and warm mid level sounds.
With the noise cancellation feature turned on, the sound becomes very impressive. The price of the Phiaton Primal Series 300 Noise Canceling headphones is about $50 less than that of the Bose QuietComfort 3. The compact headphones, with a decent price tag prove to be an excellent option for the music freak.
