Have you ever faced a situation where you are travelling on business and you need a printout, but can’t find a printer for the job? How about the idea of carrying your own mobile printer that saves you the inconvenience of setting up new printer profiles and installing drivers on the run? It is time for you to think about the PlanOn’s Printstik PS910. It is the world’s smallest full A4-page monochrome printer. Further, the Printstik PS910 is Bluetooth-enabled. This means that this device is capable of allowing a wireless connection to your notebook or to your smartphone. The PrintStik currently supports wireless connectivity on Windows systems and BlackBerry devices. PlanOn claims that the drivers for Mac OS computers, iPhone and Windows Mobile devices will be in the market very shortly. The printer also houses the conventional USB 2.0 port for wired connectivity.
In the world of printers, the Printstik PS910 is an excellent looking device. The device is impressively built with a weight of a mere 700g. The printer is user friendly and easy to use. The printer uses rechargeable Lithium polymer battery. This makes the user get rid of the need to constantly plug in the printer to the mains. The company supplies the AC adapter with the unit.
The printer, being a thermal printer, lacks the need of ink refills. The printer moves heat sensitive paper directly underneath a stationary print head and does not eject droplets of inks on the paper. The print speed of the PrintStik PS910 is an impressive 3 pages per minute. The printer offers a maximum character resolution of 200 by 400 dots per inch. This print quality is well below that of a typical mono inkjet or laser printer but is pretty manageable considering that it is a mobile printer. This printing issue is most visible when printing graphics, illustrations, and small font sizes. But the print quality for basic business documents is pretty crisp and clear. For business users, the Printstik PS910a mobile printer can surely boost productivity and offer the comfort of quality mobile printing.
