I have got good news for all the MySpace fans. The Social networking giant has launched a new, built-in mobile solution, especially customized for BlackBerry manufacturer RIM smartphones. The unique application will be used on all BlackBerry handsets. The move seems to have been taken to make BlackBerry culturally relevant.
Downloadable for free from the BlackBerry website, the application allows BlackBerry users to transfer and receive MySpace mail, upload images to their account and update status and mood from their handset! This is the 2nd leading social networking site, which RIM has added after its Facebook application, introduced last year and downloaded by not less than one million BlackBerry users.
Travis Katz, MySpace international managing director, was quoted as saying:
“This new application, specifically designed for BlackBerry, takes the MySpace mobile experience to a whole new level. Now MySpace’s 120 million active users will have easier access to their friends, photos and content anywhere they are, at any time, providing another great step in the growth of MySpace Mobile.”
The application was first introduced by RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie in September during his keynote appearance at CTIA Wireless I.T. and Entertainment 2008. It touts to provide instant, push-based messaging of social content, full with a complete messaging interface, real-time status and mood updates, camera addition and optimized photo management and notification of latest MySpace events such as friend requests and messages.
Apart from that MySpace is planning to introduce a new community page for BlackBerry handsets users. The web page will allow users to access content, ringtones, videos, skins games and associated features. The community page also brags of a product demo of the latest BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone and BlackBerry smartphone cheats.
