Samsung announces its second AMOLED camera and another super-zoom model

samsung-tl320It was last year that Samsung, with the launch of its NV24HD, became the first company to offer a cutting edge AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode) on a digital camera. Now it has announced the Samsung TL320, the second camera of this type. The Samsung TL320 is stated to be offered in May in black or silver colors. The price is stated to be at $379.99. The AMOLED does not have any major advantages for taking pictures, but has a lot of them for displaying pictures on a camera. The AMOLED provides a much higher contrast and faster refreshing rates. It does all this without you having to need the LCD’s backlight. The camera with this feature accounts for a longer battery life as compared with the ones without this feature.

With respect to the first-generation NV24HD, the TL320’s boasts of an AMOLED display screen that is larger than its predecessor, at 3 inches versus 2.5 inches. The new camera also boasts of sharper images by having two times as many pixels than its predecessor, at 460,000 versus 230,000.The 12.2-megapixel Samsung TL320 will brag of a 5X optical zoom through a 24-mm ultra-wide angle lens. The TL320 will sport its premium “Schneider–KREUZNACH” lens. The top surface of the TL320 will have analogue gauges that will intimate you of memory capacity and battery life. You will be able to record high-def video using this camera. HDMI will be available through an optional cradle.

Samsung also announced its $329 model, the HZ15W, a 12.1MP super-zoom camera. This camera brags of slight advantages over the 10.2MP, HZ10W launched by the company in January this year. Both the HZ215W and HZ10W offer a 10X optical zoom and feature the “Schneider–KREUZNACH” lens. These cameras are HD video capable and ooze of features like face detection, blink detection, and a “beauty shot” feature. The company has kept March as the availability date of the HZ15W.
