Samsung has launched a new 8.2-megapixel camera, the D860 for a price tag of £50. Samsung has gone great extents in terms of cutting corners in order to maintain the ultra low price of the camera. Having said that, it must be noted that the D860 is really good value for money. The digital camera comes with a CD, two AA batteries, a mini USB to USB lead and a printed user manual. The camera apart from being wonderfully inexpensive is a smart and compact device. The camera boasts of a 2.4 inch LCD screen, sharp enough to give user an excellent view. The assorted shooting modes of the camera include automatic, video, scene, portrait and DIS modes. The user can view the selection on the LCD screen.
In order to keep the price low, Samsung has kept the camera functions and features down to essentials. But Samsung has not compromised on the comfort zone. The camera is comfortable to carry around. Samsung has added a few extra features like Face recognition and DIS mode to the camera. The DIS mode is designed so as to minimize the effects of camera shake.
The camera produces really crisp, sharp, and quality pictures when the user shoots from a decent distance from the subject. So, it can be said that for the majority of areas and click operations, the D860 is really a smart and recommended purchase. But a negative point is that the camera produces a small pause before readying the flash. This thing is sometimes irritating for the user who wishes for an uninterrupted photo shooting spree. But with the price tag of under £50, this small concern is hardly a concern.
All said and done, the Samsung D860 is an excellent low budget camera that has its plus points which overshadow its couple of negative points. At a price tag of £49.99, the Samsung D860 can be treated as an excellent value backup point and shoot camera.
