Samsung Epix SGH-i907 is revamped version of the famous BlackJack II smartphone. Designed in shiny gray, the Epix looks like a plastic slab. Measuring 4.6 inches tall, 2.4 inches wide and 0.5 inch deep, the Epix weighs 4.4 ounces. The Epix comes with a USB cable to connect to your PC and a power adapter. Though the package lack the headset, the right spine of the device features a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Epix sports a 2.5-inch LCD screen which has a resolution of 310×240 pixels. The handset also sports optical mouse which Samsung call tiny touch pad. The mouse also doubles as five way control pad if you disable the mouse feature. The addition of the mouse makes it very easy to navigate through the menu but you need to get used to it as the cursor and the screen are small. The handset’s QWERTY keyboard features raised keys which makes it easy to type.

The Epix is a 3G phone which offers a plenty of options for connectivity. The Epix is a quad-band GSM phone which supports tri-band HSDPA data radio. The handset also includes Wi-Fi radio in order to connect to 802.11b/g networks. The Epix also features GPS and Bluetooth 2.1.

The Epix is a powerful Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone. It is a great IM and e-mail device. It comes preloaded with AIM, Yahoo and Windows Live Messenger. It also supports number of e-mail clients which includes support for Exchange Server, Microsoft Outlook, and Direct Push. It also supports AT&T’s Xpress Mail along with Outlook mobile for personal e-mails accounts.

In addition to that, it comes with number of advanced applications for business users. The Epix includes Microsoft document editing along with Word and Excel file creation and editing. You can also view the PowerPoint presentations on your Epix. The Epix also supports AT&T maps along with TeleNav supported AT&T Navigator which provides text to speech functionality of GPS device.

The Epix offers 65MB of built-in memory for storage which can be expanded up to 32GB with microSD memory card. The built-in Media player supports WAV, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and MP3 formats. It also supports AT&T’s Mobile Music application and XM Radio Mobile.

The 2-megapixel camera is capable of shooting good quality photos as well as the videos with resolution of 320×240 pixels. The overall video quality is better than the image quality. One strong feature of Epix is its battery which provides 10 hours of talk time.
