Samsung R510 notebook reviews

samsung-r510Samsung has come up with an excellent and economic solution for small businesses and single person operators, its low-cost Samsung R510 notebook. The notebook is excellent in the respect that it costs less and offers a huge 15.4 inches screen, accompanied by an extremely stylish and sturdy design. The models in this series start at £338 and go up to £477.

As far as design is concerned, the notebook carries a shiny finish throughout its outer body and at various parts of its inner body. The outer side carries a piano-black finish and the inner side carries shiny black color that terminates into blood red at its front. It is an evident fact that the shiny finish usually attracts fingerprints and so Samsungs supplies a cloth to counter this effect.

The build quality of the notebook is very solid and the casing is the special ‘Protect-O-Edge’ casing of Samsung. The R510 weighs around 2.7 kg and measures about 35.8 by 26.52 by 3.85 cm. The notebook features a huge 15.4 inches screen that offers a native resolution of 1,280 by 800 pixels. The clarity of the screen is boosted by SuperBright gloss finish of Samsung.

The keyboard of the device is a good sized one and is comfortable to use. It carries an anti-bacterial coating made of silver-ion particles. It features a section of full size number keys, accompanied by function keys. The keyboard carries a shortcut key to Internet Explorer. The smooth touchpad is powered with both horizontal and vertical scrolling. The notebook features a 1.3 megapixels webcam.

The Samsung R510 operates Windows Vista Home Premium. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 processor and is supported by 4GB of RAM. The graphics on the device are powered by a X4500HD module that is very well embedded within the Intel GM45 Express chipset.

Samsung offers 120GB, 160GB, 200GB, 250GB, and 320GB hard drive options for this notebook. The device also features Draft-N Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a V92 modem, and Gigabit Ethernet. The device houses only three USB ports and its wireless connectivity reaches to 802.11a/b/g.

Other features of the notebook are an HDMI port, a VGA connector, an Express Card/54 slot, a flash card reader, and headphone jacks. The sound from the stereo speakers of the notebook is very impressive. Overall, the Samsung R510 notebook is an excellent choice for the budget tight consumer.
