Samsung recently announced three new models from their popular F-series of camcorders at CES ‘10. F-series is well recognized for very high zoom index. These three models are also no exception for that feature. The three new models are SMX-F40, SMX-F43 and SMX-F44. All these camcorders have plenty of performance oriented features as well as different premium features such as YouTube compatibility. YouTube compatibility feature lets users upload videos captured from any of these camcorders directly on YouTube using appropriate network connection.
Samsung has built all these models around structure and features of a well-known SMX-F34 camcorder. Most of its functions are retained while a few are even added to the new models. Extended battery life and ultra-high zoom level are two of its top new features. All these models are capable of shooting with up to 65X Intelli Zoom level. Press release also states that the camcorder uses a 52X optical zoom lens. Battery life of all these camcorders last for over four hours on a single charge.
With H.264 compression method, the camcorders can store up to six hours and 20 minutes of high definition video per memory space of 16GB. This is more than enough for enthusiasts as they do not need very long footage to be stored at once like professionals.
These camcorders from Samsung use 1/6 inch high performance CCD sensors which capture great quality video but are not as efficient as CMOS sensors when it comes to capturing video in low light situation. Samsung also provides exclusive program called Intelli Studio 2.0 for Windows that can play and edit video files when synchronized from these camcorders. Other features of these camcorders include face detection technology which is used to get a perfect shot when group footage is captured.
Many advanced features like animated thumbnails for enhancing UI looks and dedicated photo mode that is used to capture optimized snapshots of 1.9 megapixels, 1600×1200p resolution. While not many people tend to use this option due to very low quality snapshots compared to even a mobile phone camera, it is still promoted by Samsung. Release dates and market price information is not yet announced by Samsung.
