The 32GB SanDisk Extreme Cruzer Contour flash drive, priced at $115, is one of the most expensive flash drives in the market. If you have a tight budget, then you may want to overlook it. But for a regular flash drive user, spending a few extra bucks on quality and style never did any harm. The drive features a retractable USB port, thereby lending protection to the port and making you not worry about putting caps on the drive. The drive is shipped with a carrying pouch that proves to be a lot better than the usual lanyard. To complement and sum up the package, a set of bundled software with the drive also makes its mark.
The contour measures 2.9 by 0.9 by 0.4 inches. The retractable USB port results in an added width of the drive, thereby blocking a second USB port on your computer, next to the port in use. When the drive is not in use, just slide and retract its USB 2.0 port into its body. The drive comes with a soft protective cover that comprises a clip with which you can attach it to a keychain or any external lanyard. If you consider the price, the Cruzer Contour offers performance at $3.59 per GB. But there is lot more to this drive. The company packs this drive with the U3 LaunchPad software. This software enables you to run applications directly from the drive. This means that you will get to have the applications you desire without having to leave any personal information behind.
The 32GB SanDisk Extreme Cruzer Contour flash drive is capable of achieving an average write speed of 7.8 megabytes per second. AS far as read speed is concerned, the 32GB SanDisk Extreme Cruzer Contour flash drive is capable of achieving an average read speed of 21 megabytes per second. The interesting part is that Sandisk launched 4GB Cruzer Contour drive last year and has bettered it with the launch of 32GB SanDisk Extreme Cruzer Contour flash drive this year. This drive offers better performance, comes with U3 LaunchPad software, and is worth its money.
