Sony announces a series of cameras, launches its touch-screen high-definition camera

sonycyberdsct900 Sony has created its Cyber-shot DSC-T900, which is being seen as the amalgamation of touch-screen features of DSC-T700 and high-definition video recording of DSC-T500. Sony, in addition to DSC-T900, also put forth five other new camera models. The new models include the touch-screen Cyber-shot DSC-T90, and a 12-megapixel device DSC-W230. The T900 combines the features of two brilliant cameras that Sony launched late last year. The DSC-T900 will feature the high-resolution 3.5-inches touch screen LCD from the DSC-T700. It will also feature the high-definition video recording abilities of 720p at 30 frames per second from the Cyber-shot DSC-T500.

The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T900 will also house a dock with an HDMI-out that supports “Consumer Electronic Control.” This CEC feature, lets any CEC enabled HDTV to communicate and control the DSC-T900 camera. You just have to connect the camera and HDTV and you are ready to navigate the camera’s menu through the HDTV’s remote. The T900 is a 12.1-megapixel camera that will have a 4x optical zoom. The camera is priced at $379.

Sony added the Cyber-shot DSC-T90 to its slim touch screen list of cameras. Identical to the T77, the T90 offers 4x optical zoom and sports a 3-inch touch-panel 16:9 LCD screen. The T90 is a 12-megapixel camera capable of HD video recording with 720p at 30 frames per second. The T90 is priced at $299.

Sony also launched the 12-megapixel Cyber-shot DSC-W230, with a 4x optical zoom and a 3-inch LCD with 230k pixels. The camera includes features like digital image stabilization and smile detection. The W230 is priced at $199. Sony has also offered the Cyber-shot DSC-290, which again is a 12-megapixel device with a 5x optical zoom and HD video recording capabilities. This camera is priced at $249.

Sony also announced its 10.1 megapixels, 10x optical super-zoom camera, Cyber-shot DSC-H20. This super-zoom camera is loaded with HD video recording capabilities and sports a 2-inch LCD screen. The H20 is priced at $279.
