sonykdl-46z5100Sony has launched a variety of TV models in its latest Z series of 1080p TVs. This lineup includes some of the most expensive and advanced TV models. The Sony Bravia KDL-46Z5100 is a proud member of this series of TVs. It is an expensive device and is priced at $2,600. This model is also the newest in the Z series. The model boasts of the very latest 240-Hz display technology. It also features a plethora of Internet-based features.

Sony has always been famous for launching the best picture quality TVs and the KDL-46Z5100 is no different in this aspect. And to add icing on the cake, the KDL-46Z5100 has been made only 1.4-inch thick.

The TV shows off an excellent amalgamation of acrylic and matte finish. It features a glowing Sony logo on its lower bezel. The stereo speakers on the TV are very carefully camouflaged by a fine strip along its bottom edge. The TV is shipped with a remote that has baton design and features universal control functionality. The remote also features a keypad that has blue backlighting. As far as connections are concerned, the KDL-46Z5100 houses four HDMI inputs, a VGA input, an RF input, a USB port, and an Ethernet jack. The TV recognizes multimedia file formats ranging from MPEG-2 to MP3to JPEG. Just connect your TV to internet and you will be ready to stream from YouTube, Amazon, etc. However, you can not add your own RSS feeds.

You can update your TVs software through the easy firmware updates. The KDL-46Z5100 produces color reproduction that is extremely similar to HD color reproduction. The color accuracy and picture detail is very good. The TV converts 1080i video to 1080p very well. The matte screen of the TV ensures minimal reflects off its surface and maximizes performance in a dark room. This model is energy efficient. If you use it for about 5 hours every day, it results in an average energy usage of 170W and gives a monthly operating cost of $2.95. Apart from the expensive price tag, the Sony Bravia KDL-46Z5100 is an excellent TV and is worth going for.
