Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V & DSC-TX7: World’s first compact cameras to support AVCHD!
The Cyber-shot DSC-TX7 and Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V are the first thinnest and smallest AVCHD-equipped cameras of the world. The two latest ground-breaking 10.2 mp Cyber-shot cameras TransferJet wireless technology, which ensures storing, sharing and viewing images, while the backlight correction high dynamic Range helps users manage complex lighting conditions. Both the cameras offer an amazing performance during low-light and augment users photo-shooting experience.
Thanks to Advanced Video Codec High Definition (AVCHD) format, the two Cybershot cameras are capable of recording movies in full HD with a resolution of between 1920 x 1080 pixels at 60i in 17Mbps. The Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V and Cyber-shot DSC-TX7 are also encompassed with Optical SteadyShot image stabilization, 10.2mp Exmor R CMOS sensor, better Face Detection technology, HDMI output, Intelligent Auto (iAuto), Motion Detection, Intelligent Scene Recognition (iSCN). The two cameras offer compatibility for the DVDirect DVD recorder.
The latest Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V is slated to be rolled out in the market with price of around $350 in March 2010, whereas the Cyber-shot DSC-TX7 has been priced about $400 and will come in the market during February.

This camera is highlighted with a 3-inch (230K) Clear Photo LCD display that is inlayed with a special coating of anti-reflective. It also has 10x professional-quality optical zoom G-Lens and Backlight Correction HDR. Besides, the 10.2mp back-lit “Exmor R” CMOS image sensor is incorporated with BIONZ image processor. On the dimensions front, the camera is weighed just 170 grams and measured about 102.9 x 57.7 x 24.6 mm.
While if we talk about the Sony Cyber-Shot TX7, it is too portable to get slipped into the pocket or purse with a lot of ease. The camera, with 3.5-inch Xtra Fine LCD touchscreen display, also comes with TruBlack technology and is coated with Ultra AR film. Similar to the Cyber-Shot HX5V, the 10.2mp “Exmor R” CMOS image sensor also comes built-in with it too.
To be availed in three different shades like red, silver and blue, the camera, measuring about 5 x 17.5, 97.8 x 59 mm comes weighed around 133 grams. As the earlier had, it is also encompassed with TransferJet technology, Backlight Correction HDR and is capable of recording around 10fps at 10.2mp full resolution.
