Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 Review

In the ever changing world of technology, music players, mobiles phones, PDA’s and other high-tech gadgets are getting lighter and slimmer with the launch of new models. Compact digital cameras are also following the same trend. Sony India has launched its latest T-series digital camera, dubbed Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77, in India. With a thickness of just 14.9mm and a weight of 151g, it is the most compact digital camera available in the market.

DSC-T77 is a stylish and ultra-slim camera that offers you a resolution of 10 megapixels, 4×optical zoom with image stabilization and a 3-inch touch-screen LCD monitor. Like any other stylish models of Sony’s T-series, it features sliding front panel that acts as lens cover as well as the main power switch.

T77 is loaded with intelligent shooting features that include Smile shutter and face detection technologies which can make anyone in your photos to appear to be smiling. Moreover, the camera uses new ‘Anti-blink’ technology which reduces the risk of closed eyes. Dynamic Range Optimizer allows it to balance between bright highlights and deep shadows.

Like other recent cameras of Sony, DSC-T77 has built-in memory of 15MB rather than the memory card. The onboard memory can hold only three photos of highest quality. So, you’ll want to have a large memory card. T77 supports Memory Stick Duo media.

The touch screen interface includes multiple image edition option and fun effects, which includes automatic red-eye removal, radial blur and star burst effects. The touch areas are very small like any other device, and it is a bit difficult to use the interface if anyone has large fingers.

T-77’s battery is an average performance battery with just 2.4Wh of energy, which gives you a battery life of around 220 shots. You may want to buy an extra battery but it is on pricey side. T77 is made of metal and the battery door is also made sturdy which is normally very delicate.

Available in silver and black color, the Cyber-shot DSC-T77 is priced at Rs. 15,999 in India, and is available at Sony owned stores and retail partners in India.
