Sony Ericsson Jalou F100i
Mobile manufacturer Sony Ericsson is back in business with the new Jalou F100i, which is a somewhat weird-looking mobile phone that has a mixed bag of features and decent performance. Sony Ericsson is promoting Jalou F100i as a style-focused mobile phone that offers decent features at $350. People are having mixed reactions from its first look. Some people really like the odd-rectangular shape while others don’t.
In any case, Sony Ericsson’s latest clamshell design mobile phone is expected to get some media attention at least in first few weeks of its launch.
Sony Ericsson Jalou F100i is not really a smartphone-conquering model with loads of features, but focuses on providing enough features for a decent price tag. Considering its size, Jalou F100i is one of the thinnest looking phones. It is also available in various attractive colors including ocean blue. There are some issues that Sony Ericsson should look into. Not just Jalou F100i, many other models are also getting negative reviews just because of their keypads. Tacky keypad reduces typing and operating speed considerably which makes users think twice before going for this Sony Ericsson phone.
A decent TFT screen with 256K colors with built-in accelerometer that helps in gaming and effective control scheme. With expendable memory via microSD card, this Sony Ericsson mobile has something to offer for music enthusiasts as they keep looking for extra space to store additional media files. Jalou F100i also provides high speed wireless connectivity with GPRS/EDGE and 3G connectivity. Connectivity solutions such as USB 2.0 transfer and Bluetooth are also supported. A decent camera of 3.15 megapixels is more than enough for occasional photography.
With high speed connectivity, video calling over 3G network is also possible. Advanced features such as geo-tagging are also supported to extend its feature list. As the phone doesn’t support any special language other than Java, there is no scope for use of advanced applications including games and softwares is out of question. A pretty good media feature set with dedicated MP3 player and video (WMV/H.264 and MP4) is also pretty handy. Some may feel that a price tag of $350 is not justified by this Sony Ericsson baby. But, it is surely an eye candy for some, who may give it a try.
