sony_ericsson_w705The W705 a mid-range handset from Sony Ericsson which is there to entice you with loads of features and good looking design. Though the handset doesn’t offer anything out of the box but it impresses with small improvements and nice refinements over its siblings. The W705 is a great Walkman phone, which comes with features latest Walkman technology from Sony Ericsson along with  an FM radio, 3.2 megapixel camera, 4GB memory card, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3G support along with HSDPA, shake control and motion gaming. The handset comes in two color variants: Silver and Red.

Measuring 95 X 48 x 14 mm, the W705 is a compact slider phone that weighs just 98g. The handset will easily slip into your pocket. The handset feels solid in hand, which is due to the top class build quality and metallic finish. The front of the handset slides smoothly to reveal the keypad. The handset features accessible music controls, whether the handset is open or closed. The W705 boasts of 320×240-pixel display, which supports 262,000 colors and features auto rotation.

As it is a latest Walkman phone from Sony, the W705 boasts of latest Walkman features. The handset gives great audio experience with included features, called Clear Bass and Clear Stereo. The handset uses Sony’ propriety premium stereo headphones that comes with the handset but it lacks standard 3.5mm headphone jack. The W705 comes with 120 MB of internal memory but it can accommodate memory cards up to 8GB. Sony has included a 4GB memory card in the package. You can store up to 1,000 MP3 songs on a 4GB card. You can also enjoy the music with built-in FM radio, which has RDS.

The W705 boasts of 3.2 megapixel camera with a flash. The camera lacks autofocus but it features digital zoom and geo-tagging capabilities along with a feature to upload images to a blog. The built-in camcorder can record video clips and you can also upload the videos to your blog. Another camera feature is the video calling capability.

The main handset features include TrackID which tells the name, artist and album sound tracks, PlayNow to buy and download ringtones, speakerphone, sound recorder, text messaging, MMS, Email, USB, WiFi, Bluetooth, modem, offline mode, YouTube support, Google Maps, and much more.

The W705 has rated battery life of 4 hours talk time with 3G up to 10 hours talk time with 2G, and 350 hours (3G) – 400 hours (2G) standby time.
