Sony Ericsson W980 reviews


The Sony Ericsson W980 is a clamshell Walkman handset. The phone comes across as small and neat when closed and roomy inside when opened. In the open position, the phone is 180mm tall. This height is quite tall for a walkman phone. The phone is just 100g in weight. As far as its dimensions are concerned, it is 92mm tall, 46.0mm wide and 17mm thick when closed. In this phone, Sony Ericsson has provided excellent front controls and an equally excellent front screen. The phone comes with touch sensitive controls for music playback. The controls also include an iPod-like control near the D-pad’s circular frame. A button for locking the outer touch buttons is provided at the side of the phone. These controls are far better than the shake control ones in many other Sony Ericsson models.

The phone comes loaded with Sony Ericsson’s SensMe system. This SensMe system lets the user to theme tunes according to the mood and the ambience of the surroundings. A unique software is provided to use this feature. The user has to use this software for tunes transfer from PC to the. The phone comes with an 8GB of built-in memory. This type of storage space is quite a lot for listening to stored music on the move. However, the phone is not compatible with flash memory cards.

The phone also comprises an FM radio and an FM transmitter. With the help of the FM transmitter, the user can send favorite tunes to an FM radio. The phone headset is based on the two-piece, 3.5mm connector. A single port on the phone is shared by the headset connector and mains power connector. The phone is power packed with all the features that one can expect in such a high end model. It supports 3G with HSDPA. The phone boasts of a 3.2 megapixels camera, without flash, and also has a video calling camera. Apart from its only drawback of its lack of memory expansion options, the Sony Ericsson W980 is an appealing phone. It is available at a price of £399.99.
