Sony unveils HDR-CX500V and HDR-CX520V camcorders


sony_hdr-cx520vThe HDR-CX520V and HDR-CX500V Handycam camcorders are the two latest siblings from Sony, the leading giant of the tech world. Each of the camcorders, the company says is capable of capturing 1920 x 1080 hi-def videos and has the capacity of holding around 25 hrs of HD videos in landscape mode.

The HDR-CX520V and HDR-CX500V camcorders can capture 12 mp images and come respectively featured with 32GB and 64GB internal flash drive. As the reviews, these camcorders, with 60p output, can show content on an HDTV with up to 60fps speed. The included Optical SteadyShot boasts of corrects vertical, lateral-roll shake by electronic image stabilization and horizontal handshake by optical image stabilization. It doesn’t let the image blur that is caused by wrist movements as it makes use of sophisticated compensation algorithms and wider camera shake correction angle.

With the help of the Face Touch function of Sony’s BIONZ imaging processor, the camcorder is able to prioritize a person chosen by a single touch and can optimize the focus, skin color and brightness. This function has Smile Shutter technology, which is very helpful in capturing smiling pictures when recording. The Smile Shutter attribute is automatically turned on for the person selected when the Face Touch gets on.

Likened with Sony’s current front-illuminated CMOS sensor at F2.0, these camcorders also boast of offering incredible low light performance with two times of the sensitivity making use of the back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor. Besides, the built-in G lens is capable of producing detailed and sharp images with exact color reproduction.

If you want to locate your destinations, the camcorders come included with NAVTEQ digital maps and GPS antenna. Through these features, you can also geo-tag photos and videos.

These Sony camcorders also brag instant power-on feature, zoom microphone with Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound, Highlight Scenario feature, operation bar, iMovie software and Picture Motion Browser software.

The HDR-CX520V and HDR-CX500V will be priced of $1,100 and $1,300 respectively.
