Sony has exploited the PMA 2009 to announce the rollout of a full-frame alpha DSLR-A900 camera, the HDR-XR520V Handycam HD camcorder and the HDR-CX100 Flash Memory Handycam camcorder. Though the DSLR A-900 camera has already had its roll out during last fall, and I have talked a lot about it earlier, but I don’t understand why has this been again brought to light at the PMA 2009.
The Sony DSLR A-900 camera has been crafted for those serious photographers who are willing to provide importance to conventional SLR performance capabilities. It is built-in with a 35 mm full-frame CMOS sensor, a resolution of up to 24.6 megapixel plus the new dual Bionz processing engine for speedy image processing.
The Sony DSLR A-900 camera comes packed with a body-built-in image stabilization system for a full-frame sensor with Sony’s SteadyShot Inside anti-shake system to make mega-fine picture quality. Made-up in an exceptional pentaprism and nostalgic body design, the Sony DSLR A-900 camera also comes with a bright, crystal clear optical viewfinder with 100% field of view coverage.
Now keeping aside from the DSLR arena, the company is also said to have come up with the release of its two latest camcorders, that is; the HDR-XR520V and the HDR-CX100. Let’s talk about the Handycam camcorders.
As the reviews, the HDR-XR250V Handycam HD camcorder brags of being incorporated with a 240 GB HDD that makes it capable of storing around 101 hours of HD video in the LP mode, a back-illuminated Exmore R CMOS sensor, an integrated GPS and an improved optical image stabilization.
Talking about the HDR-CX100 Flash Memory Handycam camcorder, it is learnt that it is built-in with a smart face detection and Smile Shutter technology. Shinning in black, red as well as silver colors, it also claims to utilize 8 GB of onboard memory.
As its features, the HDR-CX100 can be availed with the price tag of around $600, while there is no info as to the availability and pricing of the other camera models up till now.
