Sony launches PS3 Firmware 2.70 version

ps3With a view to providing thrilling gaming experience to the users, Sony has added a series of attractive features in its latest PS3 firmware version. Dubbed as PS3 Firmware v2.70, the latest version is aimed at popularizing Sony’s much-talked PlayStation3 or PS3, the seventh generation video game console and a key competitor to Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Nintendo’s Wii in the market.

The striking feature of the 2.70 update is the Text Chat. The Text Chat application helps you to keep contacted with your friends, families and relatives over PlayStation Network. You can chat upto 15 online friends using the wireless keypad, on-screen keyboard or other compatible keyboard peripherals. You can also access to Text Chat even if you are playing your favored PS3 games. You can also enter into three chat rooms and share your views with your friends instantly.  You can also share files (upto 3MB) with your friends. You can also see their online status and accordingly sort your contacts.

As its reviews, the PS3 Firmware 2.70 version empowers you to backup and restore video files, which you bought from PlayStation Store into external storage to free up internal storage for other applications. The latest version also comes with a Dynamic Normaliser that enables users to control volume levels between the sound tracks when they are playing music. You can enjoy all these services without upgrading hardware.

With this latest update, Sony has added one more feather to its popular gaming console PS3, which is in growing demand in the market. It is the successor of Sony PS2. The PS3 was first launched in Japan in late 2006. It is the first Blu-ray 2.0-compliant Blu-ray player having features like a slot-loading 2x speed Blu-ray Disc drive for games, Blu-ray movies, DVDs, CDs, and other optical media.
