Like any other laptop from Sony, there are lots of things to like about the all new Vaio VGN-NW270F/S. It has very attractive and spacious design, low price with a few attractive features like Blu-ray drive and perfect display for watching HD videos. If you can pay $700, you can enjoy HD videos on this Vaio laptop. It is a mainstream laptop and it definitely outclasses its competitors and it is available as Best Buy’s laptop.
At 14.6×9.8×1.2 inches and 5.7 pounds it is a portable laptop and it can easily replace many 71 and 18-inch desktop replacement laptops. If you leave, its Blu-ray drive aside, the internal components that you get are pretty standard to 15-inch category. It has 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 CPU and 4GB 800MHz DDR2 SDRAM that enable it to perform daily tasks. The graphics are managed by Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics card. At the heart of the laptop is Intel GM45 Express chipset. You get storage of 320GB and Windows 7 Home Premium comes preinstalled.
Like any other Sony laptop, the Vaio NW270 has very attractive and unique design that can be attributed to the textured plastic chassis. The chassis has a pattern that gives bamboo like appearance. This bamboo like is provided on the lid along with the keyboard tray. The touchpad has slightly different pattern in the form of raised dots. The keyboard has white, Chiclet-style keys, which can be found on almost any laptop from Sony. Sony has decided not to include the separate number pad, which allowed the keys to be large and provide excellent typing experience.

The display measures 15.5-inch diagonally and it s 1366×768-pixel resolution and extra-wide 16:9 aspect ratio makes it perfect for watching 720p HD video content. The glossy coating on the display makes the videos and images more sharp and attractive. The built-in speakers also complement the display with their good audio quality and loudness.

The Blu-ray drive is the highlight among the ports and connectors as the Blu-ray is offered by high-end 17 and 18-inch laptops only. The standard array of HDMI, VGA ports, headphone/microphone jacks, three USb 2.0, mini-FireWire, multiformat memory card reader, ExpressCard/34, Ethernet and Wi-Fi sum up the connectivity and expansion options.
