Sony’s Xperia X1 is the costliest cell phone in the market and it will be available after mid- November. The $800 Xperia is one of the sexiest mobile that we have ever seen.
The most distinguished feature that you will notice about the X1 is its user interface. Unlike any other handset its interface is very stylish and you can go from one application to the other with just a single touch. There are nine widgets in the XPanel home that can be customized very easily. The widgets include clock, FM radio, photo viewer, calendar, clock and the Opera web browser. The Opera web browser gives you much better experience than IE and this move has been appreciated.
The Sony Ericsson Xerpia X1 has a 3-inch touch screen with 800×480 pixel resolution. The screen is horizontal slider and there lies a collection buttons beneath the screen. The center action button works as a tiny touchpad which is useful in many applications. When you slide the screen up, you will find a full QWERTY keyboard which is a blessing for those who find it difficult to type on touch screens.
The handset has a 3.2 megapixel camera which is a little slow to focus and microSD slot is located under the battery panel. The phone supports 3G only with the AT&T SIM card and it also has Wi-Fi. The X1 is also equipped with GPS and Google maps. Sony claims that its battery works for around 6 hours.
Like any other device, X1 is not perfect and have few performance problems. The applications loads very slowly which might be due to slow CPU or due to OS. At last, there is a matter of price tag as X1 is most expensive cell phone in the market. No matter how many great features X1 is offering you, the $800 price tag will repel the potential buyers of Sony.
