Sunbelt Software launches latest version of VIPRE PC Rescue

vipre-pc-rescue Sunbelt Software has launched a free command-line version of its extremely popular VIPRE Antivirus and Antispyware utility. This application has been developed particularly for use on systems where malware and other hostile viruses interfere with GUI-based security products. This application runs in a Windows 2000/ Windows XP/ Windows Vista command prompt or in ‘Safe Mode’ with Command Prompt. The scanning engine and malware definitions used by this application are absolutely same as those used by the full VIPRE product. In order to ensure up-to-date definitions, you will have to download the product afresh before each use.

It is to be noted that many similar products are only free of cost for non-commercial use. The VIPRE PC Rescue at the same time is put forward as an effective tool for consumers and system administrators. Sunbelt has released that the directions and instructions for creating a bootable rescue CD will be available soon. The size of the download of the application is over 130 Mbytes. This size may seem a bit high for a utility that has no graphical user interface. According to Sunbelt, its research is in process and will bring the download back down to the 60-MB range in the coming month or so. If you have a system in which malware has disabled Command Prompt, MSCONFIG, or REGEDIT, you will find that after running the application successfully, malware will no longer interfere with your system commands.
