Tilera intros TILE-Gx100 Processors

In a strong bid to take over the computing market, Tilera has come up with its four latest TILE-Gx 100 processors. Dubbed as world’s 1st major 100-core processor, the TILE-Gx 100 will achieve high-speed performance in comparison to Intel Westmere processor.
To lure the customers, Tilera has made the programming simpler by using its phenomenal Multicore Development Environment. The release of the TILE-Gx family, which comes included with 100-core microprocessor, marks the launch of a new trend in the world of computing. The processor features ultra high-performance and high-core count chips to enable the customers to perform all kinds of computing tasks.
With TILE-Gx 100-core processor, the users can simply swap an entire board presently implementing a dozen or more chips with just one of the TILE-Gx processors. The Tilera processors will stand tall in the market because of their simplified system architecture. They reduce cost and consume less power in comparison to other processors.
The TILE-Gx family is found in a number of models, such as; 16, 36, 64 and 100 cores. The two-dimensional iMesh interconnect greatly brings down the demand for an on-chip bus. While, its Dynamic Distributed Cache system enables individual cores’ local cache to be shared articulately across the entire chip. These two technologies enable the TILE Architecture performance to scale linearly with the number of cores on the chip.
As the reviews, the Tilera processors are mainly useful in enterprise networking and cloud computing. The customers will also find their usefulness in multimedia and wireless infrastructure. They are also devised in TSMC’s 40 nanometer process. It performs at the speed of 1.5 GHz with power consumption ranging from 10 to 55 watts.
