TomTom XL 330S Reviews – a revamped version of XL One

tomtom_xl_330sTomTom XL 330S is an entry portable navigation from the manufacturer. The XL 330S is a revamped version of TomTom One XL and offers few unique features that makes it stand out of the crowd. The XL 330S offers better quality speaker system along with sleeker design than the one you find on TomTom One XL. However, it keeps all the features that made XL One as one of the best entry level GPS system. Like its sibling, XL 330S boasts of 4.3-inch touch screen and provides immaculate performance when it comes to giving routes and directions.

Like its sibling, the XL 330S sports one of the most intuitive and most user-friendly interface and menu system. But there are some omissions made by the manufacturer, which include omission of the integrated Bluetooth. Integrated Bluetooth and free traffic updates are msut if you consider its $299.99 price tag. But the TomTom XL 330S is available for much less through online deals.

Measuring 4.7 inches wide, 3.2 inches tall, 0.9 inches thick, the TomTom XL 330S weighs just 6.6 ounces. The XL 330S is among the best looking portable GPS devices that you will find in the market. The GPS device is as slim as the Garmin Nuvi series GPS device and it is designed with rounded edges in a silver-and-charcoal gray casing.

The XL 330S sports a 4.3-inch touch screen, which has native resolution of 480×272 pixels and supports 64,000 colors. The display is bright and colorful, and you will not have any problem in reading the text and maps. Though the display might look a bit washed out in bright sunlight but you can adjust brightness and choose from various map colors and day/night/auto mode.

Like any other TomTom GPS device, the XL 330S boasts of simple and intuitive user interface which features large icons and menu options. The XL 330 S lets you enter the text with the spacious onscreen keyboards and you can choose QWERTY, ABCD, and AZERTY formats.

The GPS looks very attractive but rest of the casing is pretty simple. The back of the device houses a speaker along with brackets for vehicle mount. The top edge of the device houses power button, while the bottom edge houses mini-USB port/power connector.

The TomTom XL 330S comes with EasyPort car mount for vehical and dashboard, a car charger, a USB cable, and reference material.

The TomTom XL 330S is equipped with the same feature set of the TomTom One XL with same additions such as, text-to-speech functionality and better speaker system but lacks integrated Bluetooth.
